This clinic is functioning under the name of HIFU TERRAMED CONFORMAL, with headquarters in 22 Pelinului Street, 3rd district, Bucharest. Also in this clinic, you will be able to use the first private radiotherapy service in the country.

This project came to life by private investors’ partnership. One of the investors is "Centrul Medical Bio Terra Med"; with 9 years experience in the Romanian medical private system, this medical center stands out by the quality of services, the implementation of the quality systems in the specific activity, the modern medical equipment, and the confidentiality concerning the services provided to the patients.

History

The idea of applying ablation by conformational hyperthermia ultrasounds appeared in Romania out of the need to create a conformational non invading treatment, to solve the immediate and definitive excision of tumors without pain and other biological costs.

1950 - 1960: William and Frank Fry treated with HIFU the patients with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological problems.

1989: Dr. Wang Zhibiao and Prof. Ruo Feng began the researches concerning the ultrasounds effects upon the tissues.

1996: Dr. Wang Zhibiao and his collaborators treated for the first time a bone tumor on a patient at the Ultrasounds Medical Engineering Institute of the University of Medical Sciences from Chongqing .

At the moment, the HIFU, discovered and developed by Dr. Wang Zhibiao and Prof. Ruo Feng, is used in more than 300 hospitals in China.

World-wide, the equipment is used in China and in other countries like: England, Italy, Spain, and Russia.

Since 2009, Romania is the fourth country within the European Community where such equipment is operational and where the ablation by ultrasounds conformational hyperthermia is put into practice.
